New Yorker Films Presents the DVD Home Video Premiere of PROMISES!

The filmmakers, Justine Shapiro and B.Z. Goldberg, have maintained a close relationship to the film's subjects. The DVD Special Home Edition includes two short film updates they shot:

• "August 2004". Updates of the kids filmed in August of 2004 where we find Faraj (the Palestinian Refugee) working full-time at Wal-Mart in the USA, and Yarko (the Israeli) serving his mandatory three years of military service.
• "The Kids Go To The Oscars". The kids' journey to the 2002 Academy Awards.
  

These (now) teenagers and the others from the film offer candid, compelling and sometimes humorous insight into contemporary Middle East politics and universal adolescent angst.
